Ain’t no lie, bye bye bye

A ‘Jersey Shore’ recap

By Annie Porembski

Published January 18, 2012

Last week 6.5 million people watched as we said goodbye to the most sane person in the house, Vinny. This brings the IQ of the group down a significant amount.

Vinny confesses he has clinical anxiety. This whole time they have been at the shore you can tell something was not right. Ronnie’s prescription for him was to get him a hooker. The gang knows Vinny is struggling, but they all seem to just say “don’t go.” Doesn’t matter that he can’t sleep and is anxious, let’s bring him to a loud club and everything will be OK.

At the club Pauly D picks up a girl he calls “the definition of DTF.” He decides to respect Vinny’s feelings and take her upstairs. The two go back to the smoosh room and bump uglies while Vinny sits alone in their room trying to sleep. This past week I think was the drunkest I’ve ever seen Pauly, and of course after he finishes he soon calls her a cab.

The DTF chick — don’t know if they even mention her name — looks for all of her articles of clothing and snatches up Pauly D’s necklace. Isn’t it hilarious when people are drunk they think they can get away with anything? After seeing all the seasons of this show, everyone knows there are cameras everywhere. The girl looks from left to right and shoves the diamond chain down her daisy dukes.

Don’t worry though, we all know she comes right back the next day and gives it back to him.

With all the drama surrounding Vinny’s possible exit, we almost miss the best part of the episode! Snooki falling all over the place drunk.

Episode two of season five saw a dip in the ratings, last Thursday’s episode was down one million viewers from the premiere. The show still won the 10 p.m. time slot, though. “Jersey Shore” has seen a ratings dip in the second episode three out of the five seasons. But now would be a good time to come on back, there is some major drama to come!

Spoiler Alert, don’t read on if you don’t want to know!

In doing my research I can tell you that another roommate is going to leave the house. This “situation” will soon be over though because the tanned man will return in the next episode. As much as I can’t stand Mike, I don’t think the show would be the same without him.

The Unit is not gone. News broke this July that he gets caught in the Jersey Shore house with a “mysterious powdery white substance.” TMZ obtained footage of the arrest over the summer; he now faces drug charges. Jonny Manfre, a.k.a The Unit, recently hosted a party in Chicago that advertised him a the “newest roommate.” I don’t know for sure that he moves in, but MTV has teased all season that they might get someone new.

This is not the last time we’ll see Vinny! The Examiner is reporting that the roommates miss him and head to Staten Island to get him back. However, I can’t find confirmation that he actually returns. Guess we’ll have to watch and see.
