For this week’s edition of Street Style, UWeekly interviewed OSU graduate student Sam Tortora, a first year studying counselor education. She combines her fashion inspirations with the latest trends spotted on campus to create her own personal style.

T-Shirt- $12 from Victoria’s Secret Pink

Leggings- $7 from Body Central

Boots- $42 from JC Penny

UWeekly: How would you describe your personal style?

Casual but dressier than average. My style is very intentional. I always put a lot of thought into everything I wear.

UW: Do you have a signature item/something you never leave home without?

Signature item — my watch. It has a bunch of changeable bands so I can match it with whatever outfit I want.

UW: Where are some of your favorite places to shop?

Charlotte Russe by far. But Forever 21 is a close second!

UW: What are you looking forward to wearing this winter?

A pair of combat boots — if I can find a pair that I can afford. I think they’re so cute.

UW: What are your favorite places to hang out in Columbus?

Well I’ve only been living here for four months, so I still have a lot of places to try out. So I don’t have a favorite yet!

UW: Do you have any style icons/inspirations?

Style Icons: The Kardashians. They’re so stylish and well dressed all the time. They always look good.

UW: What’s one rule you stick to when dressing every day?

I just try to look my best every day. Put your best foot forward and put effort into what you wear. Oh and also make sure you wear clothes that fit right!

UW: What trend would you never be caught dead in?

Jeans with athletic/tennis shoes. It drives me crazy when I see people wearing that!
