Mayor’s Wife Pleads No Contest, Blames Hooch
Frankie Coleman, Mayor Michael Coleman’s wife, was in court today to face charges following an investigation by the Ohio Department of Health (which she previously worked for) regarding falsification of her timesheets and being paid for time she didn’t actually work.
From NBC4:
She was sentenced to five years probation, a $500 fine on both charges, and 100 hours of community service. The maximum penalty for each charge was six months in jail and a fine of $1,000.
Coleman also continued to play the “it was all alcohol’s fault” line she has been toting since resigning her position in June.
Coleman admitted to the judge that she had a drinking problem and that she was seeking help for it in rehab.
The judge said that Coleman was not allowed to drink during her probation.
“I admit that I do have a problem with drinking,” Coleman said. “And I am very proud of myself that I am working on it successfully and hopefully going to recover from it.”
Mayor Coleman was by his wife’s side during her trial.
