Tyler Perry’s the Marriage Counselor
Tyler Perry presents a series of sketches this Wednesday that identify the different aspects of marriage in this comedic offering. The production centers around Judith, an Ivy League-educated marriage counselor who gives marital advice to couples who are going through a rough patch, but things take an interesting turn when Judith needs some counseling for her own marriage. Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. show at Veteran’s Memorial are $45.50.
Downtown Digital Arts Festival
The Downtown Digital Arts Festival at Columbus State Community College brings together student artists in digital photography, design, interactive media, animation and audio/video, for a three-day event, designed to educate, inspire, and entertain. Hours are from 8 a.m. – 9 p.m. Wednesday through Friday. Admission is free.
Beginning Bonsai series
Those interested in learning about bonsai can sign up for the Franklin Park Conservatory’s comprehensive Beginning Bonsai course. Students will receive their own tree and pruning scissors as they learn the basics and history of the ancient gardening practice. “Rock and Roll Picture Show”
The Wexner Center for the Arts will screen “The Rock and Roll Picture Show” this Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Film/Video Theater. The program features music from the likes of Led Zeppelin, Ray Charles, Elvis Presley, and many, many more influential pioneers of the rock and roll landscape. Tickets cost $5 for students.
Jon Reep
Jon Reep, the winner of last year’s “Last Comic Standing” on NBC will visit the Funny Bone Comedy Club Friday through Sunday night. While Reep has the pre-requisite Comedy Central special, he is probably best known for the series of Dodge commercials he appeared in that show him obsessed with hemis, making him, simply, “The Hemi Guy.” Tickets are $20.
Eddie Izzard
The two-time Emmy award winner Eddie Izzard, who now stars on FX’s “The Riches,” will also be stopping by Columbus next Tuesday. The English actor/comedian will visit the Palace Theatre on Tuesday at 8 p.m. Tickets range from $37.50 - $47.50.
