Campus Quickies
OUAB’s Flicks for Free series continues Wednesday, May 14, at 8 p.m. in Campbell Hall Room 200 with “Charlie Wilson’s War.” The film, starring Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts and Philip Seymour Hoffman, tells the true story of how a playboy congressman, a renegade CIA agent, and a beautiful Houston socialite joined forces to lead the largest and most successful covert operation in history. As always, free food, prizes, and drinks will be provided.
“Working: A Musical”
The Ohio State University Department of Theatre will present “Working: A Musical” May 15-23 in the Thurber Theatre at the Drake Performance Center. The play explores the American workday through the eyes of 26 workers who meet in a subway station. Tickets are $15 for students.
Buckeye BBQ
Join OUAB and the Buckeye Barbeque Club this Thursday, May 15, for a free barbeque on the South Oval beginning at 5 p.m. Local restaurants will be on hand to show off their food, and there will also be contests and games throughout.
Dump and Run
The Students For Recycling will hold their 5th annual Dump and Run from May 19 – June 6. Bins will be set up in residence halls for students to donate items (clothing, furniture, electronics, etc.) that they would otherwise throw out. Larger items and furniture will also be picked up from off-campus houses if requested. Items donated during the end of Spring Quarter are then sold off at a yard sale during Welcome Week of Fall Quarter, with the proceeds to benefit local charities. Flight of the Conchords
The Flight of the Conchords will land at Ohio State for a show at the Schottenstein Center this Friday, May 16. The folk rockers/comedians are famous for their hit television show of the same name on HBO. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m.
Relay for Life
The campus area Relay for Life will take place at Fred Beekman Park beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 17. Relay for Life is a 24-hour event that raises money for the American Cancer Society. Live music, volleyball tournaments, and other games are just a few of the highlighted events going on at the park, along with the relay.
