PSP owners looking for a great game should absolutely consider picking up Tekken: Dark Resurrection.
This one-on-one fighting game is basically an updated port of last year’s Tekken 5 for the PS2, with some new additions and general improvements.
Dark Resurrection features 34 characters to choose from, including two new fighters. Not only is the significant variety great, but each character has their own storyline and an awesome-looking, rendered cutscene ending. So, playing through the game’s Story Battle mode is worth the effort.
Another mode that’ll take some time to complete is the Tekken Dojo mode, which has you competing as your favorite character in various leagues and tournaments. Winning these matches will increase your ranking and also earn some cash to purchase new clothing accessories for your character, or to unlock various rendered cutscenes.
While the game allows you to duke it out against other PSP users nearby, it doesn’t feature any online play. What it does allow you to do, though, is upload your high scores to see how you fare against other players out there, and also download some game-related content.
Overall, Namco did one heck of a job with the release of Tekken: Dark Resurrection. With its sharp graphics and depth, you’ll be playing this game for a while.
